Four for Maundy
Queen's honours includes locals
Four people from Derbyshire were amongst those receiving the traditional Maundy Money from the Queen this year. The coins are given to people to recognise Christian service, as nominated by their local diocese. This year’s service was held at Windsor Castle. The local recipients were:
- Mrs Christine McMullen, has been active in the Diocese of Derby at many levels over many years.
- Mrs Barbara Slatcher has been sacristan at Bolsover for over 20 years.
- Mr Edward Latham has worked in the Alfreton Deanery for almost 20 years, and administered accounts for the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal.
- Mr Albert Grimes: Albert has been a faithful member of Heanor Baptist Church and has remained passionate about the Gospel.
