That's Fair!

Ripley's new Fair Trade shop

When Frances and Martin Turner moved to Ripley at the start of last year, they soon realised that there wasn’t a dedicated Fair Trade shop in the town. So when a shop became vacant opposite their church, All Saints, they took up the challenge of starting one themselves.

That Fair Trade Shop opened on 29th October, and is becoming a well liked venue for locals. It stocks a wide range of fairtrade food and beautiful handicrafts from Traidcraft and other fairtrade suppliers. They have a little children's play area and comfy seating where customers can enjoy a hot drink.

Martin says, “It's reason for being is to help alleviate poverty in developing countries through trade justice. A huge difference can be made to peoples lives simply by choosing to buy fairtrade.”

The shop, at 8 Church Street, Ripley DE5 3BU is open Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30-17:00.

Call them on 01773 745177 or visit them at www.facebook.com/Thatfairtradeshop
